Spinach and Artichoke Alfredo Chicken Pasta

Spinach and Artichoke Alfredo Chicken Pasta

Yeah...it's a mouthful I know. It still sounded better than Spinach Dip Chicken...and well that doesn't even let you know there's artichokes in there. I saw this recipe from Emily Bites and immediately thought, "Add more cheese and pasta and voila!"  Cause you can't have enough cheese and pasta in your life.  And, well, I needed some way to use up the rest of the Romano blend I purchased for my cheese trials.    Which reminds me, I need to check my email to see what's left to do that on the … [Read more...]

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken – Recipe Review

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken – Recipe Review

I'm not sure how I got the idea of Buffalo chicken sliders in my head, but that's the reason for me trying this recipe.  I mean, I LOVE Frank's wing sauce, so it's only logical that I should LOVE this recipe.  I didn't... I don't think it's the fault of the recipe.  I'm sure hundreds of pins couldn't be wrong on this one.  I think I failed in the ratio of wing sauce to chicken. I must preface this by telling you that I RARELY if EVAH use salt in my cooking.  I'm one of those … [Read more...]

Spicy New Orleans Barbeque Shrimp Recipe for Mardi Gras

I LITERALLY wanted to face plant in the pan of these Spicy New Orleans Barbeque Shrimp Recipe for Mardi Gras shrimp and eat every bit of smoky, spicy goodness.  Oh...WE WILL be making these again.  Often.  So often, that I plan to have liquid smoke oozing out of my skin. Photo by Susie Mine didn't have as much oil and butter, of course, but all the flavors were still there none the less.  I did buy bread, but we didn't sop up all the juicy goodness.  Our weekly shrimp are … [Read more...]

Sun-Dried Tomato Turkey Meatballs – A Recipe Adaptation

Sun-Dried Tomato Turkey Meatballs – A Recipe Adaptation

My first blog post and recipe not based on a review of a Cooking Light or other recipe. These Sun-Dried Tomato Turkey Meatballs are packed with flavor and very healthy for your family to devour any time they want. I saw these...and they were drool worthy. And I said, "I shall make these this week for dinner!" And I did, and they were good. Except, I didn't follow the original recipe that the pin eventually leads you to. I made my own version of the Sun-Dried Tomato Turkey Meatballs. So, … [Read more...]

Have you lost your cheese?

January 17, 2013

Have you lost your cheese?

So, I took this online survey about cheese.  I was truly hoping to just get a sample of cheese for free in the mail.  Well....I'm not sure if that's going to happen or not.  Anyway, they called me and asked if I'd be willing to participate in a cheese research thingy.  She didn't actually SAY thingy, but I've slept since then and can't remember WHAT she called it.   I received a log in to the research website this week and it truly is ALL about cheese.  What brands do you … [Read more...]

Low Fat Chocolate Cheesecake

Low Fat Chocolate Cheesecake

I...have a confession to make.  *wrings hands*  I'm not quite sure how to tell y'all this but.  *sigh* I AM AN ANIMAL MURDERER! There!  I said it!  It's out in the open.  I have killed dozens of animals!  No, I don't know how I sleep at night or how I can live with myself.  I killed dozens of animals just making this cheesecake alone! *giggles*  Animal CRACKERS that is.  I couldn't honestly hurt a fly...spider maybe, but fly probably not.  Fruit fly?  Yeah, sure!  Stink bug!  HELLS to … [Read more...]

Roasted Lemon Garlic Herb Shrimp

January 15, 2013

Roasted Lemon Garlic Herb Shrimp

This Roasted Lemon Garlic Herb Shrimp looks sooooooo good.  And I wanted it to be sooooooo good, but I also didn't want to gain 5 pounds just looking at it.  I tried to cut the oil and butter in this and I think something was lost in translation. I think I felt me hips just get bigger by reading the amount of oil in this.  Yes, healthy oil, but still oil none the less.  My nutritionist has me on the low fat plan...  This looked too good to not give it a try. I cut the oil and the butter. … [Read more...]

Creamy Jambalaya Pasta

Creamy Jambalaya Pasta

So, this is almost a full week of Pinterest recipes.  The creative bug will not strike until maybe this weekend with the chocolate cheesecake recipe I'll whip up.  Now, it's just a week of trying other people's recipes.  Tonight, it's Creamy Jambalaya Pasta from Plain Chicken.   Now, remember, I'm still trying to keep my fat intake down...and well the rest of my calories down.  So, all of these recipes have been altered to be low fat.  I mean...I need to do something before my … [Read more...]
