Grilled steak and Greek salad top this quick Greek Steak Salad French Bread Pizza. It’s a weeknight meal that’s not only tasty, but different! Maybe your kids will eat their salad if you turn it into a pizza?
I saw a recipe for a salad pizza. I’m sure you’ve seen some of them on regular pizza crust. This one was for a French bread pizza. It looked AH-mazing! So, of course, that got me to thinking about making one because I wanted it IN MY BELLY! And that, my dear readers, is how this Greek Steak Salad French Bread Pizza was born.
Yes, it’s a mouthful; to say and to eat. And yes, it is a little difficult to nosh on, but that’s the fun part! Sometimes, it’s fun to make a mess while eating. That usually means it’s good food! And THIS is goooooooooooood.
I had written part of this post and had a vent in there. Then my computer crashed and I lost it. Probably better that way. You wouldn’t have to endure my rant about Lord knows what. Probably work. It’s what has really been eating at me lately.
BUT hopefully we will get good news on Monday and it won’t be such a stressful topic in the future. Please keep your fingers and everything else crossed for me.

It’s like everyone’s bookmarks with visual aids.” That’s usually how I describe it. Pretty accurate, right? I mean, it’s bookmarking with but with pictures, right? No? Okay…
In any event, this is definitely going to get pinned, if only by me, it’s still getting pinned.
Just look at all that tasty goodness! It’s a garlicky bread bottom, fresh spring greens, sweet peppers, tangy onions, and deliciously grilled steak! YUM! All topped off with a delicious Greek dressing. It soaks into the bread and makes it all tasty good.
Honestly. How in the world can you resist that?
Of course you can’t see the bread in this shot, but you can see the colors in the salad on top of the bread.
There’s used to be this restaurant in our area; George’s Pizza and Pasta. We went there a couple of times and I remember it was almost pizza everything. Even the pasta was placed on top of pizza type crust. This sort of reminds me of that. Except it’s a French bread pizza and not a traditional pizza crust. But that’s another idea for another blog post. Just saying….
AAAAAAAAAAAAND this happened while making it. Honestly. I had matching middle finger bandages at one point this week. I’m such a danger in the kitchen. THIS was just the start of it.

So, this is me trying to slice my fingernail off and into the salad. Then I but my finger with a can. Then I spilled jalapeno juice all over the floor and the rub. Then I dropped a bunch of crap in the floor. I’m such a disaster in the kitchen sometimes. It’s not even funny. I call it the McM curse. Dad and I are the same way. If we’re in the kitchen there’s bound to be accidents or issues. It sucks sometimes. I think the curse saved a bunch up for a week worth of the shittastic cooking and baking. Not that the recipes were horrible, but the methodology behind them left me maimed and injured. *sigh*
- 1 loaf French bread
- 12 ounces grilled steak
- 10 ounces friseé salad green, washed and dried
- 10 ounces baby spinach, washed and dried
- 1 cup thinly sliced red onion
- 1 cup thinly sliced yellow bell pepper
- 4 ounces crumbled reduced-fat feta cheese
- 1/4 cup kalamata olives, sliced
- 1/2 cup sliced cucumber
- 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 1/2 tablespoons Greek seasoning
- Preheat broiler.
- Slice the French bread in half lengthwise and lightly toast under the broiler. Remove from heat and rub with cloves of garlic. Spread 1/4 cup crushed tomatoes on each half and top with steak. Return the bread to the broiler and broil until the steak is heated through; about 2 to 3 minutes.
- Remove from heat. Top with the salad and drizzle with extra dressing. Cut into slices and serve.
- Combine next eight ingredients (friseé through cucumber) in a large mixing bowl. Set aside.
- Combine the vinegar, water, and Greek seasoning in a small mixing bowl. Drizzle over the salad and toss well to coat.
