Glazed Cranberry Orange Baked Doughnuts

December 17, 2013

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Carton Smart for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine. What if we all could make one change?  One simple, small change that could, collectively, change the world that we live in.  It's a pretty amazing concept, but so minuscule if you think about it. What am I talking about?  Packaging.  Have you ever noticed how much packaging some products have?  What type of packaging they're in?  Have you ever thought … [Read more...]

Cranberry Orange Muffins

It's SRC reveal day!  YIPEE!  I can't wait.  It's been the LONGEST MONTH EVAH!  At least it feels like that.  I spent tons on my assignee's blog.  She has a TON of information, posts and some mighty tasty recipes.     *waves to Melissa*     I was assigned BKLYN Locavore.  By day, Melissa is a marketing professional and by night she's an advocate for the local food movement.  She belongs to two local food coops;  Park Slope Food … [Read more...]

Spiced Rum Fruitcake Doughnuts

November 15, 2013

Yup!  It's that time again!  Time for the Spiked! Recipe Challenge.  I LOVE this challenge, because it gives me an excuse to make tasty nibbles like this one! You see, when Mom moved off the main land, she gave me her steamed pudding mold.  This meant that I was seriously going to make our Christmas pudding for the holidays this year.  I can't tell you how happy that makes me.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE this recipe!  It IS NOT low fat.  It just wouldn't be the same if I tried to make it like … [Read more...]

Banana Waffles with PB Syrup

July 21, 2013

The story goes, when my mother was preggers with my sister, she ate hot dogs.  Consequently, my sister loves hot dogs.  When my mother was preggers with me, she had PB and nana sammies.  So...yeah.  They are my crack.  Not tasted like Elvis.  Actually, I've never had it toasted from what I can remember.  It's always been plain bread with PB and bananas.  No honey.  No jelly,  Just PB and nanas.  Simple.   Sometimes for a snack, I … [Read more...]

Disappearing Nut Butter Banana Bread

June 13, 2013

Yup.  I said disappearing.  Because that's what it did at work.  Disappear.  In like...RECORD time.  I will honestly say, I think it's the best banana bread I've made recently.  Not of ALL time, but it's up there. *interesting and comical anecdote* There's some spiced rum commercial that the tag line is "Release the Krakken!"  Consequently, , it's S's favorite saying as of late.  You see...I got some junk in my trunk.  No?  Um...some fries with my shake?  … [Read more...]

Hearty Wheat Banana Muffins

June 1, 2013

I'm still perfecting my low fat cake/cupcake/muffin recipes.  I know I'm delusional when I say I want to make a cupcake, cake or muffin that has the similar texture, crumb, and lusciousness that the full fat version does.  This idea came to me last night as I was trying to get back to sleep.  *note to self Mexican on Friday after 2 scotch and waters = heartburn at 1am*  Yeah...it wasn't pretty.   They should have some whole grains in them.  I know.  I said I'm delusional. … [Read more...]

Pistachio Lime Muffins

March 8, 2013

With a secret ingredient, these Pistachio Lime Muffins are packed with delicious flavor and healthy ingredients.  But they're still deliciously moist.   Pea flour!  Yup!  I said PEA FLOUR!  It's a flour...made outta peas.  Split green peas to be exact.  In an effort to NOT make the typical split pea and *insert various meat here* soup, I wanted to find something different to make with the split peas I have in the pantry.  PEA FLOUR!  I said it again!   This is not an … [Read more...]
