Restaurant Kibe in #Bosnia Dishes up Delicious Roasted Lamb and Touring the Market

November 22, 2013

Finally!  It's Friday.  I swear it was the longest week EVAH!  I don't think I've been happier it was a Friday in a while. Usually it's just another day to me.  But today!  MAN was I happy!  I seriously needed some weekend rest. Today was inventory day.  Yup. We found issues.  More issues than we had with the other items we reviewed.  Thankfully, it's an easy fix.  Just redo the inventory and dispose of the excess.  And is there some … [Read more...]

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken

January 27, 2013

I'm not sure how I got the idea of Buffalo chicken sliders in my head, but that's the reason for me trying this recipe.  I mean, I LOVE Frank's wing sauce, so it's only logical that I should LOVE this recipe.  I didn't... … [Read more...]

Roasted Lemon Garlic Herb Shrimp

January 15, 2013

This Roasted Lemon Garlic Herb Shrimp looks sooooooo good.  And I wanted it to be sooooooo good, but I also didn't want to gain 5 pounds just looking at it.  I tried to cut the oil and butter in this and I think something was lost in translation. I think I felt me hips just get bigger by reading the amount of oil in this.  Yes, healthy oil, but still oil none the less.  My nutritionist has me on the low fat plan...  This looked too good to not give it a try. I cut the oil and the butter.  I … [Read more...]

Maple Glazed Pumpkin Scones

October 8, 2012

Maple Glazed Pumpkin Scones From:   SOME THE WISER So...I found foodgawker.  I found THESE on foodgawker.  *sigh*  Hello, my name is Christie and I'm addicted to food.  Can I just say...the house smells AMAZING after baking a double batch of these.  However, I'm not a huge fan of the glaze.  I think I pinned a recipe with a chai glaze?  And then there's the one with the cream cheese glaze.  So, here's what I'm thinking; chai cream cheese glaze. … [Read more...]

Brandied Apple Strudel

October 1, 2012

Brandied Apple Strudel No, I'm not diabetic.  My father, however, is.  Consequently, when they came over for dinner weekend before last, I wanted to make an appropriate dessert that wasn't going to send him into a diabetic coma.  After searching ALL week for something that looked non-cardboard-eque and didn't require meringue of some sort, I found this.Granted, I didn't use the brandy in the recipe and just used water in its place, but this was pretty darn good!!  I will … [Read more...]

Ginger and Thyme–Brined Pork Loin

September 24, 2012

Ginger and Thyme–Brined Pork Loin Cooking Light  APRIL 2009 So, after weeks and weeks of planning, DF and DSM FINALLY came for dinner this weekend.  I saw this recipe on the myrecipes site and thought it would be perfect.  Of course I couldn't find the ginger preserves.  Didn't even think I would and had resolved myself to just using orange marmalade. It was flavorful, but didn't have as much thyme flavor as I thought it would.  I think I would make a casting … [Read more...]

Pineapple Bliss Cupcakes

July 1, 2012

Pineapple Bliss Cupcakes I made this as a cake.  Don't.  I've never tried the pumpkin version of this.  After this attempt, I'm not sure I will. The cake was crumbly.  VERY crumbly.  I mean, it just fell apart in the pan when I was trying to cut it.  In all the years of baking cake, from scratch or a box, I've NEVAH had that happen.  EVER! It wasn't dry.  It was rather good.  I didn't make the fluff topping for it.  I'm not a fan of fluff. … [Read more...]
