Carol, glad you enjoyed my round up! These are all foods that we served at our parties when I was growing up. I searched and searched for a bourbon ball recipe that DID NOT include cookie crumbs of some description. I took a minute.

I may have a whip up a Derby Pie. It's sooooooooo good!

In reply to Leslie. Leslie, I LOVE baked brie, too!! It's sort of how my Sweet Potato Skins came about. I haven't done the hat thing. Our parties filled the house. I can't imagine what it would have been like had the women had those hats. LOL

It was a fun ride. Ha! Thank you for sharing about the Kentucky bond. That's the first I have heard it expounded on. It was fun reading about the listing of foods one would associate with the Derby. New to me.
I wandered off and was duly impressed with the two or 3 recipes I checked out—like the bourbon balls and the derby bars.

I love these parties myself. I'm just getting home from one as a matter of fact. My boyfriends parents have one every year. I went out and bought a huge hat too. The other ladies at the party had great ones too. I admit, I fell in love with baked Brie!
