#FoodieFriDIY #71 – Welcome November!!

#FoodieFriDIY #71 - Welcome November!!

I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for the weekend.  The last week has just been surreal.  So, for those that want a little snippet of the AKHA household, here goes:

Thursday the hubs texts and says he may not be able to pick me up and that I should take the train.

Me: ?

Hubs: Major major incident

Me: Oh.  Crap.  Police involved?  – I asked this because that’s usually the largest delay is getting local PD to show up for anything.

Hubs: Everyone.

Me: Holy S.  K.  Just let me know if I should take the train.

Hubs: K.  I hope I don’t make the news.

Me:  WTH…  Who died?

Well, this guy did.  While the hubs didn’t make the news, he was on the Fox 5 DC Twitter feed because housekeeping let a reporter in on the secured floor because she was knocking on the door to the stairwell.  Umm..HELLO??  How dense are you?  It did make the local ABC news Friday night and numerous news sites here and here.

Since it’s a major, international crime scene, they need 24 hour security outside the room to make sure no one enters.  Yay.  No.  They don’t have that many guards on site.  So, Friday, he’s not sure if he can even go home.  Can I go home, pack a bag, and bring it to him?  This went on until about 3:30 and he says he’s on his way.  We get home, he packs a bag, and I don’t see him again until Tuesday night.

So, that’s been my week in a nutshell.  It sucks because I don’t get home until 6.  Then I have to walk the dog, do dishes, cook dinner, make breakfast, walk the dog again, and then hit the sack at 9pm to start the whole thing again.  Thankfully he was home Tuesday night.  I was so happy to see him; you have no idea!!

I hope your week was better than mine.  I mean, it almost HAS to be unless you had a death close to you.  So, I can’t wait to see what you have to share this week.  Y’all ready for Thanksgiving??
