#HelloKeurig – LOVING Our New Kitchen Toy

Oh yeah baby!  I did say #HelloKeurig!

I think I did the BIGGEST happy dance ever when I received notice from Influenster that I was one of the participants lucky enough to receive the new Keurig 2.0.  And then it took FOREVAH! for me to get the tracking information for the shipment.

But just a few short days after receiving it guess what was sitting outside our door when we got home!!  It took every ounce of energy I had not to rip into the box and put it on the counter pronto.  BUT we still had dinner to prepare, a dog to walk, and a traditional coffee maker to put into storage.

It’s so pretty!!  Look at it!!

Yes, even Missy was interested in what was in the box.  She has to sniff everything to make sure it’s “Missy Approved.”

In the box was the Keurig, a black carafe, a drip tray for cups, sample carafe packs, sample cup packs, instruction book, and water filter.

We did not like the French Roast.  Just sayin.  The Donut Shop was okay.  But we’re flavored coffee drinkers, so we LOVED the French Vanilla and the Hazelnut.

And that’s the look that says, “Why haven’t you taken me out yet?  I don’t care about some stupid box with a gadget in it that does ME no good!”

It’s big.  Bigger than I thought it would be, but it really doesn’t take up THAT much more space on the counter.  We just have limited counter space in our tiny, one butt, kitchen.

It was easy to assemble, fill, and was ready to make coffee in minutes.  Literally.  Once the water heats up (which takes all of about 30 seconds) we could put a pack in and make coffee.  It takes at least 5 to 7 minutes with our usual coffee maker.

Now, being a Keurig virgin, I can only speak from a totally unbiased opinion of this coffee maker versus a regular one.

We love the programmable feature.  That was the only breaking point of whether we’d really use and keep this coffee maker or not.  Yes.  You can easily program it to brew a pot for when you get up.  You can program it to just be on and have hot water at the ready for your choice of single cup flavors.

We initially brewed a pot in the morning and then singles for our travel mugs, but now we’ve flipped it around.  We brew singles in the morning and then a pot to fill our travel mugs for work.

The coffee is not much more expensive then the regular ground.  I can purchase a box of pods for twice as much as the regular ground and it lasts two weeks.  The carafe packs were not in stores initially, but last week I finally did see some at our local grocery store.  That means we don’t have to order them from Keurig, which is good.  They’re about 4 dollars cheaper in the stores.  YAY!

The touch display is easy to read and use.  You can select your mug size and your brew type if you want it stronger or not.  Even the carafe has three different size selections.  We chose the 4-5 cup because that’s what fills our travel mugs.  That’s S’s travel mug there.  Mine didn’t fit underneath so I brewed it into the pot and then poured it into my mug.

In the mornings, I usually brew S’s a little stronger and then fill with a little hot water.  Oh yeah, you can dispense hot water with this baby, too!  HELLO oatmeal breakfast!!  YUM!

The fancy lighted display and lighted water reservoir – meh.  They’re pretty, but not essential.

Yes, they do take particular K-cup packs, but I hear there is a hack for that.  That’s all I will say on that subject.  When the first Keurig came out, generic, refillable cups were not available, so I’m sure it’s only a matter of time.

I can honestly say that I love this machine.  It is the best product I have received from Influenster to date!  Not I haven’t received some awesome products to try, but this one truly takes the cake.  I only hope I have done them justice with my unbiased review of the new Keurig 2.0.

It truly has changed the way we drink coffee!!

I received this product to try for free from Influenster.  I am not compensated in any other way and all opinions are 100% my own.
