On the East Cost of the US, we have lots of delicious produce in season. The berries are starting to wane, but tomatoes are starting to wax! Get the moon references? You can find tomatoes in all shapes, sizes, and colors now. These red juicy globes are perfect for sandwiches, salads, sauces, and salsas. Cucumbers are hitting their prime and perfect to making cucumbers or tons of salads!
Bell peppers come in all shapes and sizes, too. I have seen white, purple, and brown along with the standard green, red, orange, and yellow. There’s a range of eggplants, too. I prefer to call them aubergine. Sounds better than eggplant. Of all the herbs that’s synonymous with summer it’s basil! Perfect for a caprese with some tomatoes or a pesto for pasta. And finally, stone fruits are starting to infiltrate the markets with their sweet aromas. Peaches always make me happy.
