Steak Tips with Peppered Mushroom Gravy

COOKING LIGHT, JANUARY 2010Being as we’re both working days now, I’ve been looking at quick and easy meals to make.  At least that’s what I did this week.  Yes, this was quick and easy.  It was really tasty too!!  I tried really hard NOT to overcook the tips so they were chewy.  It wasn’t easy to do….and I didn’t have the pan hot enough so they just browned.  *sigh*  Make sure the pan it hot enough to just brown them.  The juices came out and kind of steamed them.

This was really good though!!  Even for lunch the next day it was good.  The grocery didn’t have the baby bellas, so I just used regular white buttons, but it was still good.  We usually double up on the shrooms because they’re good when cooked in gravy.  Hopefully, the next time we make this, which will be soon I’m sure, it will be with the baby bellas.
