					<description><![CDATA[I love this!  I was in the mood for a tuna casserole tonight, and I didn&#039;t want to heat up the oven and apt. in July and use more central air conditioning.  I never thought before of doing a stovetop version of one of my favorite comfort foods.

So I Googled &quot;Cooking tuna casserole on the stove&quot; and found you.  :))

Here are some other suggestions for this casserole from long experience with the oven-baked mode:  water chestnuts, toasted almonds or other nuts, and other herbs, including fresh parsley.  I have never added cheese to this casserole, and I think it&#039;s still good without it.  Also, I advise using reduced salt soup and solid white albacore tuna - even though more expensive.

I minimize my gluten intake for GI reasons (not celiac), so I use GF bread crumbs for the topping and GF noodles or rice instead of noodles.]]></description>
