Gastronomique Tour de Colombia v2.4

February 12, 2013

Esta Domingo!  *snort*  Today, I'm supposed to go to Usaquen where there is a market like a flea market?  Or craft market?  I get up this morning...bright and early as usual.  I head down to grab a light bite, knowing that lunch will be later and then just lounge around waiting for the rest of the world to wake up.  LOL  I'm not so sure I could get used to this type of lifestyle.  Even if I want to, I can't sleep much past 7.  My motto, "If the sun is up, so am I!" So, I knit, I play, I blog, I … [Read more...]

Hola de Colombia

February 6, 2013

Early January, work tells me that I will need to travel to Colombia to help with a FY2013 budget either the end of January or the beginning of February. Me, "Can it be more towards February? I don't want to be in Colombia for my birthday." So, here I sit...in Colombia...without a kitchen to cook in. My mouth - no matter how much water I drink - feels like a salt lick. I have two weeks of this. *sigh* Can I just say...altitude sickness is HORRID!  I was expecting something, but WAS.NOT … [Read more...]

Low Fat Chocolate Cheesecake

January 16, 2013

I...have a confession to make.  *wrings hands*  I'm not quite sure how to tell y'all this but.  *sigh* I AM AN ANIMAL MURDERER! There!  I said it!  It's out in the open.  I have killed dozens of animals!  No, I don't know how I sleep at night or how I can live with myself.  I killed dozens of animals just making this cheesecake alone! *giggles*  Animal CRACKERS that is.  I couldn't honestly hurt a fly...spider maybe, but fly probably … [Read more...]

Chocolate Banana Upside Down Cake

December 20, 2012

Okay...so I can't take credit for the idea or even the basic cake recipe.  But, I made several changes to the original recipe I found (here) that it's kind of NOT the same anymore?  *shrugs*  And not to mention the changes I'm going to make at some point in time at a later date that's undefined at this moment in time.  Man...could I be more vague?  I have a few projects up my sleeve but no gumption to actually complete them.  Maybe Sunday I will do one of the … [Read more...]

Chocolate Drizzled Peanut Butter Cheesecake Recipe

March 13, 2012

Chocolate Drizzled Peanut Butter Cheesecake Recipe I wanted to make a peanut butter cheesecake, so I searched and found this one.  I used RF cream cheese and egg beaters instead of the full fat stuff.  I used the Planters peanut butter.  I find it has the best taste of all that are out there...and being the PB snob that I am, *I* should know.  *snort* Eating it tonight, I'm thinking it needs more sugar.  The tartness of the cream cheese comes through too much. … [Read more...]
