Spicy Shrimp Pasta

March 1, 2012

Spicy Shrimp Pasta BHG.com nomnomnom  This was YUMMY!  It was so simple, yet so very tasty!!  I bought frozen broccoli and put that in the pot of water.  When it began to boil again, I removed the broccoli and then added the pasta.  I figured they wouldn't have the same cooking time.  I kept the broccoli in the strainer and poured the pasta over the broccoli to reheat it. I also added about 1/2 cup of the pasta water to the pan with the shrimp.  The pan seemed a bit too dry and it made … [Read more...]

Shrimp Fra Diavolo

August 23, 2011

Shrimp Fra Diavolo January 2010 Yeah...a teaspoon of crushed red pepper is a bit too spicy for me. I couldn't taste much else. I would cut back on that to make it less spicy so you can actually taste the tomato sauce and shrimp. It was quick to throw together and made for a pretty easy weeknight meal. A nice chunk of bread and maybe a little tossed salad and it's a nice simple dinner. … [Read more...]

Spicy Chipotle Shrimp Salad

June 19, 2010

Click here for recipe Cooking Light, July 2010 This sounded really interesting, and being as it was hot as hell this week, I went with mostly salads. I am a firm believer of tasting the chipotles before you use them. I didn't this time. It needed more chipotle. They apparently weren't very spicy in this can. Being as I wanted t make this a dinner salad, so I also added some avocado to the mix. Don't. It turned out to be a shrimp guacamole. Yeah, sounds interesting, but it really wasn't. … [Read more...]

Thai Red Curry Shrimp

May 16, 2010

Thai Red Curry Shrimp Cooking Light, JUNE 2010 O M G this was fantastic!! We have recently moved, so I don't get to shop at our usual grocery store and this one doesn't have that great of an international food aisle. As luck would have it, we have an international grocery store within walking distance. I get home from the grocery Sunday and realize we don't have any garbage bags. So, I trudge up the international store to buy some. I start wandering around and low and behold they have the … [Read more...]

Spinach Risotto with Shrimp and Goat Cheese

November 15, 2009

Click here for recipe Cooking Light MAY 2009I didn't like this at all. I think it was the goat cheese part that I didn't really like. I normally like goat cheese, but for some reason this recipe didn't do it justice. I was more interested in the risotto with the spinach and the shrimp. Next time I make this I'll probably use parmesan or maybe asiago Measuring cups and spoons Knife Cutting board Two saucepans Wooden spoon … [Read more...]

Cajun Shrimp and Rice

November 14, 2009

Click here for recipe Cooking Light, NOVEMBER 2003 This was really good. It was like a jambalaya without the sausage. It was easy to make and relatively cheap. If shrimp is on sale that is. It could use a little more kick, so add more cajun spices or some cayenne pepper. I will probably make this again. Measuring cups and spoons Knife Cutting board Large nonstick skillet … [Read more...]

Italian Herbed Shrimp Kebabs

May 14, 2009

Italian Herbed Shrimp Kebabs recipe Cooking Light, JULY 2008 For some reason, I couldn't find fresh basil. Go figure. So, I used a jarred pesto sauce instead and omitted the olive oil from the recipe. They were pretty good. I think I used too much of the pesto sauce, though. Next time, I'll try and find fresh basil and see if they're any better. Measuring cups and spoons Knife Cutting board Grill or grill pan … [Read more...]
