Dad told me that years ago. He worked at USDA. There’s so many foods that are lumped incorrectly. Like tomatoes are a fruit along with squash and bananas are a berry but raspberries are not.

It needed some smoky flavor and green that wasn’t leeks. They get overused in pilaf.
