For those that don’t know, SRC (Secret Recipe Club) is a group of extremely talented bloggers, chefs, and food-thousiasts like myself. Once a month, we sign up to participate and once a month we’re assigned a fellow blogger in our group. Once we have found and created or re-created a recipe on the blog we are assigned, we create a post telling everyone about our assigned blogger, their blog, and the chosen recipe on our specified group reveal date. I’m not explaining it all that well. It’s awesome and I’ve found some really wonderful blogs to follow and be inspired by.

This month I was assigned I Am Honey Bee. Nicole (don’t ever call her Nikki) has an amazing list of recipes. Many of which I have secretly pinned to make later.
Her 28 things on her About Me page made me honestly LOL. We are both January babies except my fave gem is the black opal. I often correct people’s grammar…out loud. I have also had an epic accident. My first time in a Starbucks, I passed out and hit my head on a wire display basket to the tune of 14 staples, an MRI, and a trip to an ENT to stop the dizziness. And I also despise parallel parking.

She has a full range of tasty recipes up for grabs. I gravitated towards this chocolate sauce as I plan on making a steamed chocolate pudding sometime this week. So, I needed a sauce worthy of such lusciousness and this was just the sauce to step up to the job.

I was on an apple kick and pinned the Pear and Apple Pie and the Apple Pie Squares. But I also pinned the scrumptious looking Jalapeno Popper Dip, Mini Corn Dog Muffins, and the Pimento Cheese Mini Burgers. Oh yeah. Pimento cheese is my crack and has been since I was little and we had them for lunch on our fishing trips. Those and Vienna sausages with saltines. Or Beanie Weenies. But that’s a whole other post.
No matter how many tasty recipes I clicked on, I kept coming back to this delicious recipe. It truly was the perfect choice for this month. I knew it would be the perfect finishing touch to the steamed pudding.

I love the simplicity of this recipe. Besides I imagine y’all have everything you need right in your pantry. Well, maybe not the bourbon, but definitely everything else. While I loved the brown sugar she used, I was dying to use the vanilla sugar I had on hand. And since bourbon and vanilla go hand in hand, I thought what better way to use it then to add it to this tasty sauce.
Trust me when I say this sauce is deliciously simple. It took about 10 minutes to make? But do yourself a favor and watch this like a hawk! It only took a few minutes for the chocolate to start to melt. It only took a few minutes for the chocolate to completely melt. A few minutes for the coconut oil to melt. You get the picture. Every step took just a few minutes. So, if you forget about it even for a minute it could go south quickly.

And you don’t want this to go south. Just look at how rich and decadent it is!! Yes, I did lick the spoon. Wouldn’t you? I wanted to eat the whole jar with the spoon, but I stopped myself. I mean, I had lamb in the oven so I couldn’t spoil that with chocolate sauce as much as I really wanted to.
