Movies #Noovi and a Much Needed Massage

November 29, 2013

Movies, #Noovi and a Much Needed Massage

It’s kick back day today.  I had some breakfast and then headed back to the room for a minute.  I did snap this pic of the sunny side up eggs that are always on the buffet.  Yes.  The yolks DO look that yellow in real life.

Movies, #Noovi and a Much Needed Massage

They are a little crispy around the edges, but I’m not going to eat them.  Read the grocery post and you’ll find out why or at least partly why.

I typed the rest of the morning away and watched some more free movies online.  It’s amazing what you can find out there that’s free to watch.  I didn’t have to spend hours downloading movies and I didn’t have to schlep a crapton of movies.  I found one blog and there’s always youtube!

N and I grabbed a cab to meet H and C at Noovi at 1.  Okay.  Can I just say, if you’re a cab driver, and I show you a map on my phone of where the restaurant is, you should be able to figure it out.  Especially since the directions include a pretty solid land mark like the British Embassy.  Just sayin…

Again with Noovi.  It’s delicious!  I probably could have eaten there every day and still not be bored.  H was drinking prosecco when we got there.  Having not ever had prosecco, I decided to join her.  It was pretty good.  Not quite a champagne but definitely tasty.  I think I had three glasses during lunch?

It was another one of those marathon conversation type meals.  I can’t remember the topics, but holy.  I don’t think I’ve participated in conversations like this in years.  There was this epic Thanksgiving the year Dad had to go to KY, but since then, I don’t think so.

I spent quite a bit of time listening and reading the bottles.  There are shelves lining each side of the restaurant full of bottles of wine.  A good part of the conversation was programmatic and while I think that’s very interesting, it doesn’t really hold my attention all that much.  Probably one of my downfalls in this business.  I’m just SO not politically minded.  I’m a numbers person.  I’ll tell ya how much your program might cost.  You’re the one that has to put the program ON and make sure it’s successful.

3 of the 4 of us ordered the stir fry.  I wanted rice, for some reason.  It just looked so fluffy tasty when G had it last week.  I ordered the chicken stir fry.  There’s chicken and veggie.

It’s the only picture I took.  When I only take one, it’s always out of focus.  You’d think I would learn.  But, sadly, no.  Yes.  It tasted just a delicious as it looks!  The soy on the rice isn’t the uber salty stuff you think it is.  It was more of a tamari soy sauce that’s not as salty and butter tasting.  The veggies were nice and crispy.  The chicken was tender and juicy.  Just, YUM!  It was perfect for a nice big lunch!

Okay.  We met H and C at 1.  I had an appointment for a massage at 4.  I left from the restaurant to go to the spa.  D made the appointment for me.  I had no idea where it was or what to expect.  H gave the taxi driver directions to the spa.

I opted for 1 hour of the standard massage.  Now, I’m a pretty modest person.  I’m weird about strangers looking at me nekkid.  No.  I’m not a confident person, at all in that respect.  I was thankful when they ushered me into a changing room and gave me a robe.  Then I was escorted to the room, where the masseuse told me to get on the table face down but there was no towel or blanket.  She left and I lay there bare assed nekkid.  She came in and put a blanket on.  Thankfully!  I can’t imagine staring at my large ass the whole time.  *snort*

It was $45 well spent!!  She hit all the sore spots.  She wanted to massage harder, but I didn’t say, so she didn’t.  When we were finished she said I should have told her harder if I wanted it, but I am still a massage novice.  LOL  I think I’ve had 3 every in my life.  I really should have more.  They feel good.

So, I was putty by the time I got back to the hotel.  It was chilly and raining.  I was quite happy to curl up in bed with the iPad and watch movies until I fell asleep.
