Bark Box – A Review
Yes. I’ve been introduced into the intricate world of subscription boxes. While Mom was here, I was showing here some of the subscription boxes and foodie items I’ve received. I figured, since my cooking mojo seems to have disappeared this week with the exception of maybe 2 dinners, I’m going to finally review the boxes I’ve received and USED.
One of boxes is from Bark Box. I honestly don’t recall how I found this box. As with most subscription boxes that I’ve tried, I’ve given it two months. The first one is usually meh. The second is usually better.
This one was different. Missy LOVED the treats in the first box she received:
We haven’t done the Bowser Beer, yet. I want to freeze it for her but we don’t have ice tube trays. She’s eaten all the Puptato Chips and the Sirloin Burger Trail Mix. Put the chips in a zip top baggie after you open them or else they won’t stay crispy. We haven’t tried to the Calm K9 yet either. She has a Thundershirt. And she received a rather large Butcher’s Block bone for her size. I’m afraid she’s going to break a tooth on it it’s a bit wide.
Here’s her on the couch checking out the trail mix.
I wasn’t all that impressed with the first box. Though I’d like to find the puptato chips in a local store. I’ll have to see if I can find those. OR even make my own for her. I have a mandolin. Maybe this fall…hmm…
So the second box arrived last week I think it was.
There’s Cool Treats smoothies for dogs which she devoured in SECONDS. LOL The flexi bowl, which is kind of cool to keep shoved somewhere for a quick water drink. There’s the No Grainers, banana and coconut organic treats by Max and Ruffies, Sliders pet treats in beef and cheddar and chicken and cheddar. She’s devoured the beef and cheddar one already. Finally there’s the Wigzi pocket bone. I’ve taken to stuffing the Max and Ruffies treats in each end and hiding it in the bedroom before we go to work.
I thought I had a pic of her using the toy, but I can’t seem to locate it.
For those that don’t know, Missy has a bit of anxiety and chews on stuff while we’re at work. So, we put her on the bedroom, where she’s content to sleep or whatever while we’re gone. The closet door is shut, the trash can from the bathroom us on the toilet so she can’t get into it. Her food and water dish are brought in there every morning fresh and full. And she has a nice comfy bed to sleep in while we’re out.
When I saw that pocket bone, I just knew it would be a fun toy to use with her. She has a stuffable bone toy already, but this one’s a little different and she slept with it last night. I thought that was funny.
This morning, she was actually LOOKING for the surprise treat. I’ve been hiding it in there for the last week. She’s finally caught on. I need to hide it a little better next time.
All in all I would definitely continue the bark box. It makes her happy to try to new treats and I find some excellent treats for her. I just wish they had age specific boxes for older dogs, puppies, etc. Size isn’t the only determining factor when I buy her treats. I look for those that will have health benefits like joint and hip.
If you have a dog, it’s worth it to try Bark Box out, for a couple to months to see if it’s something your dog might like. I know mine does!
I've not yet checked out subscription boxes. What a cool idea…it's on my list to check out not. Found you on the Aloha Friday Hop.
A bog for dogs? How cute! I wonder if they make any for cats? 🙂
