2013 Top Ten Posts – MANY Surprises!

Sharing is caring!

MAN has it been a busy year!! It started with a trip to Bogota which was VERY inspiring with all the delicious food I wanted to go home and try to recreate. Then another trip to Bogota with more ideas.

Last year about this time, I was still blogging about recipes tried and not recipes made.  Then I got a bee up my bonnet (there’s that saying again) and wanted to take Mum Lowe’s Christmas Pudding and turn them into cupcakes.  They were pretty good cupcakes, too.

Then in January, I was contacted to participate in a cheese survey and market testing on packaging.  Part of that was the follow the cheese; from inception, to purchase, to use and finally to eat.   I caught the bug.  Then it was Spinach and Artichoke Alfredo Chicken Pasta which was pretty popular.  Hmm…maybe I should step it up and actually DO this blogging thing!  That’s what I was thinking…

So.  I did.

Then I found the Secret Recipe Club and #SundaySupper.  My new blogging families!  They inspire me to step it up!  They are some tough competition and some VERY talented bloggers there.  These two groups along with a few other challenges I’ve joined up have really pushed me to do more with this little blog and all my kitchen gadgets.

Then ANOTHER trip to Bogota.  And then… A WEDDING!  Yes, it HAS been a big year!!  S and I have been together over 6 years.  I never thought we would finally get married, but we did.  And had AMAZING grouper, bread pudding and CALAMARI!  Mmmmm…  You see?  It’s all about the food.

Then a trip to Bosnia.  My word was that food fabulous!!  My interest in authentic and world recipes was renewed.  I really do need to make some cevapi.  They were FABULOUS!  And the flat bread!  YUM!

And here were are; closing out 2013 and getting ready to start 2014.  What’s in store for AKH next year?  You’ll just have to stay tuned to find out.  And when I found out which posts were the top 10?  That was interesting.  It’s a mix of all my posts for the year.  Isn’t that how it should be?

1.  Healthier Pineapple Upside Down Cake – I LOVE LOVE LOVE this recipe.  It’s so yummy, tasty, and DEFINITELY healthier than the traditional recipe.  And it’s one of those semi-home made recipes.  You probably have all the items in your pantry right now.  Well, most of them anyway.  I’m not one for keeping maraschino cherries in the pantry or the fridge.  We use them for this.

And now…what does 2014 have in store for me?  Who knows?  All I know is, January will have a couple of giveaways I am participating in.  January IS my birth month, so I had to do SOMETHING for you lovely readers.  Stay tuned for the specs on those giveaways.  I may even participate in a third one.  Just not sure yet.  Basically, just keep reading.  It only gets better from here!
